Default I am lost, new problem.

Ok, this is wierd, just pulled off the interstate to get gas, turned ignition off and took key out, and radio is still on???
Acts like ignition is in the 1st position, have my door open, key out, buzzer is off, windows work, cigarette lighter works, and radio works, heater fan not working.

Did sticky key around 2 years ago.

Never had any issues before.

04 ssb, 6 speed,115,936 miles

Haha, just figured it out.
Forgot I plugged in my booster box to charge it while I am on a 6 hr drive.
The blocking diode must be out on my charging cord and was feeding power back.

Idk why it changed my miles to 115k
I have 144,936 miles

But the cigar lighter is not powered when the key is off. (Unless you did the "Always hot cigar lighter and glove box lamp" mod.)

I have a splitter attached to the 12v outlet, usually keep tpms screen, gps and phone charger plugged in.
But also had my booster box that was feeding power to outlet when key was out, surprised the windows still worked.

My cigar lighter is a 3 flame sitting in bin on passenger seat

I've seen advertisements, for "jumper boxes" that plug into the lighter an supply enough power ,thur it ,to start your car. Never liked that idea.

Yeah, me either. Never did like the thought of 'backfeeding' electrical circuits!

Me neither, don't know what all circuits power on, I unplugged it, till I get my cord and blocking diode strait.

With booster powering the 12v outlet, the radio worked, windows worked, I have my passenger airbag off, when ignition off the airbag light went off, buzzer was off, blower was off.

If there is anything you want me to check if powers on or off through 12v outlet without the key let me know.

Many battery maintainers have adapters to charge through the 12v outlet instead of hard wiring or aligator clips.

Yeah BUT, in the XF when the iggy switch is OFF the cig lighter circuit is dead, the maintainer will not work. BTW, they sometimes never tell you that until you buy the maintainer and cannot get it to work.

I use little float chargers from HF. Have gator clips so connect under the hood. Been using for years with conventional and (now) AGMs.
