Alarm system
I have an 04' limited manual and I've been having tons of mechanical issues. I just fixed the rcm and the car now starts and runs, but the alarm system still loves to go off for no apparent reason frequently. Most of the time it's just the lights start flashing as if my hazards were on and it stopes when you unlock and then relics it and sometimes (like tonight) it sets the alarm and lights blaring at 2:30am. Is there something wrong triggering this, is there a trick I can use to stop it? Please help I can't deal with another dead battery due to an unnecessary car alarm. At this point I'd honestly give up the anti theft just to not have to deal with this killing the battery and waking me up.
So you can just disable the alarm and still operate the car?
Yes you can disable the siren without any problems. The siren has it's own set of small rechargeable batteries. When they start to go bad the siren will do wired things and go off on it's own for no reason. It is a bit of a job to get the wipers off, but the cowl removal is simple after that. You can use the search box at the top of the forum page for siren and all kinds of info will show up.
You may want to check for any Diagnostic Trouble Codes, DTC just to be sure something else isn't messing with you.
