With no more info my first guess would be a weak and dying battery. How old is your battery and how long have you had the car?

No point in answering this post, they say you cannot teach an OLDawg new tricks.

Battery is brand new, had the car 4 years. Everything worked fine in the morning, and later not at all. Seems electrical, as no power to either. Just don't know what to do. How would I get in touch with Klaus at top Hydraulic ? Thank you.

I am no expert on roadsters but I think that the spoiler must be down before the top goes up. Therefore I think the spoiler is the problem.
Fuse? Bearings seized on spoiler?
You asked about an oil leak years ago, no reply then but let’s hope you reply and give us the solution to the problem this time.

Thank you for your reply, I have checked the fuses and they are good. Just hope I can find what is wrong. Will definitely keep you posted.

No, the top will go up and down with the wing up. THere is about 1/2" clearance and yes, the TCM will allow the top to move with the wing up.
I have my wing PERMANENTLY up cause I think the car looks like a dog with no tail when it's down.

Brand new, meaning you replaced it in the last few days? That is, replaced it since this started?

I bought a new battery in 2017, April. Three months later, I was at the store getting a warranty replacement.
New items CAN be defective.

And if the wing won't move at all, you don't need Klaus yet. I know this sounds like advice from a 3rd grader, but open the hood, take the fuse box cover off, and check fuses. THere will be a card under the lid, use it to find the spoiler fuse, and the top fuse(s).

Now, the BCM "Body control module" directly operates the wing, and the top control module does a lot of 'handshaking' with the BCM as well. I"m thinking there is something goofy going on here. Again, my first reaction is to replace the battery.

Did this car sit in a horse barn recently? What I mean is, could there be a chance of rodent damage to the wiring harness? I ask, because we have seen it before. A mouse got into the box next to teh battery that houses the BCM, ECM and RCM and chewed wiring. That was an awful mess.

Mine did this EXACT same thing when the BAS/ESP light came on. I had a bad wheel speed sensor but something in all the puters made the car decide to stay in some safe mode with the spoiler up and not being able to change the top. I manually put the top up. I checked all the normal things then had the sensor fixed then all the spoiler/top issues when away. Seems when the BAS/ESP light was on the top would not move.

Is your BAS/ESP light on?
