Default Airbag warning - blinking on and off

My 2004 cupe limited had an airbag warning light. I got a new airbag controller (MB part nr 001 8200826) and the warning and initial code disappeared. Then what has happened is that the warning light started going on and off continously - ca 1,5 min intervals. There is a code indiciatng something is wrong with the passenger seat airbag manual override switch ( the key operated switch on the side of the dash on the right hand side); thing is that my car does not have this switch - I have found out that european crossfires like mine (2004 limited) don't have this switch (to turn off passenger side airbag if you have a child in the seat etc).

Does anyone in here know : 1) how to identify the correct version of the airbag controller module that I need - is there a special part number or something I have overlooked? or 2) how simulate this switch in order to satisfy the airbag module searching for something that doesn`t exist? or 3) has anyone else had the same problem and solved it - how?

I spoke to a dealer - he says the module is actually a Fiat part. He also said there are two versions - one for airbag systems with passenger override - and one for systems without the override.

I would be very grateful for any advice as I will not get the car passed for MOT with the airbag warning light blinking.

The original airbag controller had a part number and that is the part you should have installed. If the dealer installed the wrong part let him fix it.

Thanks for the reply, I will double check the part number. I'll be back from work in a couple of weeks and look at it then. The part number has a [08] at the end, maybe that is a version indicator that I have missed ......

I have checked the part number - should be OK. I have also had confirmation that the SLK (from where I got the used part) did not have a airbag on/off switch just like my crossfire does not have such a switch.

The DTC code reads: «Front passenger seat occupied, child seat recognition B48. DTC Status: coding faulty»

I was adviced that a seat mat emulator would probably work - I bought an emulator, but can´t find corresponding wires under the seat to those on the emulator - the emulator of course is made for SLK R170.

Any ideas? Anyone know what cables under the seat (see pictures

Seat mat emulator - does anyone know which Xfr wires correspond to the wires of the emulator?

DTC code reading - symptom: airbag light blinking on and off.
) correspond to those of the emulator? Any suggestions?

I will appreciate any help - that light blinking on and off is .....irritating
