Anti-Theft System has Shut Car DOWN
Ive just gotten out of 3 months of hospitalization. I put a friend with a Mercedes in charge of finding repair for this. Now after all this I remembered you all are here to which I am entirely grateful. Thanks
I watched the SKREEM video you provided in your message AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT MY CAR DID.
TWO QUICK STARTS THAT STALLED and then zip. I emailed the Wings Dealership before I went to sleep.
Thank you ALL so very much.

michaels - the other two companies mentioned in the post's are SOS in Oregon and MDP in Florida. Since you are laid up I will see if I can find any information or website address for you. Perhaps someone else also has that information. Valk (moderator) has a lot of information on various companies mentioned on this site.

michaels - all I could find was SOS Automotive in Portland, Oregon and MDP-services.com in Florida. I don't know if these are the companies mentioned. Maybe someone else know's. If it were me, I'd go to Rob at Needswings. He's been around for quite a while and knows what he's doing.

It does require someone to remove other parts from your car and send them to these two companies in order for the module to be repaired

SKREEM Modules BACK-ORDERED SINCE JUNE according to Rob at NeedWings.com
I called and spoke with Rob this morning in detail about everything the shop I took it to has done and is charging me for.
He says theyre not out of line at all, they are right on track, that in order to diagnose Crossfires you need a $20K Mercedes laptop and software to do so, thus the additonal $300.
Also, in addition to the SKREEM module, there is a box the size of a brick located in the trunk that is connected to the SKREEM unit that controls door entry which may have gotten wet and burnt out.
He also mentioned that if the electronics in my key fob had gone bad, that could be the WHOLE problem from the get go.
When I purchased the car used in 2009, it only came with one key fob, then in 2014 I lost the fob completely and ordered a new one for $300 from MOpar directly which took a week to get.
All in all, Rob said Used SKREEM units were no good because they had to be in coordination with the cars VIN, which I sent him and am now on a waiting list for, and until God knows when?
I can't believe this is all so difficult ;(
I'll check back for more updates of course, because if anyone can find a solution, it's all of you.
Much appreciation,
Suzzanne

There is a box with more electronics located on the right side of the trunk in the floor and if it gets wet I know it can affect the operation of the locks etc.
I don't believe that this component itself would cause the symptoms you have described of the two engine start ups and then nothing.
I have heard if this occurs and you disconnect your battery for a few moments and reconnect it you will get the same series of two times start and die and then nothing again.
It still sounds like the SKREEM module inside the dash behind your speedometer as shown in the video in my previous post.
I'm sorry I wish I could help you more.
I spoke to Rob 2 hours ago.
I typed out our whole conversation regarding his answers to all in a post on here too
He can't do anything besides put me on a back order list that's since June : (
Im in the process of visiting the other 2 recommended for repair sites now.
Thanks

Jim,
I took your and Valk's advice and am having the shop here send my SKREEM to one of your recommended shops to see if they can repair it.
I will post the shop I chose and the outcome of all when I'm back up and running as to help others that may come along here that may need this information down the road, too.
Thanks again for all your replies and links.
