Default Camshaft position sensor bolt size

While replacing the camshaft position sensor I got all the way through the project and sure enough dropped the bolt when trying to get it back in. Of course then it magically disappears totally. Can anyone tell me the exact size I need to order? Is this something I need to go directly through Mercedes for? Really frustrating. This is a five minute job that takes half of a day because of where they decided to put the bolt.

I think you mean CRANKSHAFT sensor. The reason you dropped it is because you did not use my trick.

I could tell, the chance of dropping that damn screw was 99.999999% before I even started the job. Altho I admit, I thought the most likely time to drop it would be during removal.

Same bolt for camshaft or crankshaft sensor. I use a magnet to pick up the bolt once it is loose.
