Default Carbon fiber center console

Let me explain how much fun (and I use that word very loosely) this adventure has been. I started off with laminated carbon fiber .025" with a sticky 3M backing and was told that this would bend around the corners with a heat gun. Not the case, it started cracking even though the carbon was hotter than hell. Next I thought I would use some of the carbon fiber fabric I bought for another project and glue it down with spray adhesive then put an epoxy over it. This was even more fun than the first project, if anyone who has ever dealt with a loosely woven fabric can tell you this stuff goes everywhere and doesn't want to co-operate. So I've done most of the work and will begin putting the pieces back in the car tonight. I'll post pictures and see if others want to have the same amount of fun!

Had carbon fiber inserts on my GT Cruiser and they look really nice but I'm carbon fibered out...keeping mine stock for now. Bet yours will look real nice though!

I started trimming the fabric after the epoxy cured and it looked ok (probably great by most peoples standards), but not awesome. I got frustrated and just pulled it all off and removed the glue with mineral spirits. Amazingly none of the paint came off with the fabric and epoxy, they must have put it on their rather well. I'm just going to go the ole laminated wood route from one of the vendors and call it good. Oh well, you never know till you try.
