Default Removing accelerator pedal

I have the retaining nut off but the pedal assembly does not want to lift off the stud. Is there some magic approach to getting the pedal assembly to lift off the retaining stud? Don't want to force it and break something. I have the factory assembly manual and the pages for this show how to remove the nut but don't offer any advice on getting the pedal assembly off the stud and then off the bracket at the top. This is a 2005 SRT.

I believe I remember there being a washer on the stud that can be angled enough to cause a bind with the stud?

Ditto on that washer getting stuck (as I have heard as well). I have heard ppl using a magnetic tipped wand, don't know how hard it is to use though. Good luck!

Yup, it was that pesky washer. Pushed up on the pedal and removed it with a magnet. The pedal came right out. Thanks
