Whoever changed your oil the last time, failed to install that 2nd seal in the middle of the shaft. The Mann oil filter kit has 5 seals included in the kit.
Good luck next time....

These are the 4 o-rings you should replace 1, 2, 3 & 5

Dennis, do you have the OEM filter cap on your car? I've never tried to remove anything 'under' that cap and am not even sure the thing comes apart. Hate to 'break' the cap looking for something that is not supposed to come apart. Thanks in advance, for verifying if your cap is OEM.

The next time I change the oil for 2024, I will photograph the filter holder and outline the 5 seals on mine, which is an OEM to my SRT6. The Mann and OEM MB filters have/had 5 seals. Why would a supplier provide an additional seal if only 4 are required, to complete the filter change?
Back to you at a later date....

The 5th seal is shown as seal #4 in post #3. Most people don't bother with it.

I just do not want to break something that doesn't come apart if I've never had that cap apart before. Past posts on this subject had quite a few conflicting answers about the 5th 'O' ring. One time, I looked to see if the part was able to separate in the cap but stopped short of breaking something. I just could not see how it was connected. Plus, there also were a few pictures posted by other members (again, long ago and I do not have a reference) that there was a 'cap' above on some members cars, that might have came from another car, that had it's own 'O' ring that could be changed. The Mann filter is spec'd on quite a few MB vehicles, so I'll just do the 4 until I get something concrete (like some really good close-up pictures that demonstrate how the post comes off of the OEM cap).... Thanks for the reply Dennis.
