Default Catalytic converter engine performance

Hey all, I have a 2005 srt6 with 2 bad catalytic converters. If I decide on a cat delete (no inspection state) will the check engine light being on affect how the vehicle will perform? Can I just pull a fuse for the code after the delete? I’ve tried googling and browsing the forum but I couldn’t find a definitive answer, thank you for time.

Hi, the check engine light will not effect the performance. The proper fix (to get rid of it) is to have the rear 02 sensor diagnostics coded OFF in the ECU. I'm sure someone like Josh at the MSS could do it for you.

Only the primary cats are monitored.

You can remove all the cats and get the o2 extenders so the ecu thinks the cats are still there.
