Hello all, my wife has a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire. Was running fine and started run a little rough. Scanned the codes, getting P0300. So, I have replaced the spark plugs, plug wires, coil packs and the injectors. Still getting P0300 along with P0303, P0304, P0305 and P0306.I tried to erase the codes, but they still come up. Anyone know what else it could be. Thanks Steve
It indicates you have multiple misfires. Where did you get the plugs and wires? Are you certain everything was reconnected correctly? Are you sure none of the coil pack connectors were bad? When you started was it only the P300?
Things to check:
When you installed the new plugs did you check the gap? Do you have the wires going to the correct position on the coil (A B) on the coil (G K) on the valve covers?
Did any of the coil pack connector plugs break? I have how to posts for the spark plugs & wires, also how to replace the coil plug connectors (New ones are available).
I can link those posts if you need them.
Everything put back together. No codes showing on scanner. Started car and it backfired, and the font of the intake manifold exploded. Any ideas as to why this happened?
Our injectors mist into the intake not the cylinder directly. I read you replace all the injectors with new. None the less first suspicion would be leaking fuel injector.
Considering your misfire codes you may want to replace the camshaft sensor with a new Bosch.
How long did the engine run before the backfire destroyed the intake?
