Hydraulic Ramps for the our Xfire Maintenance!

Our Xfire's are so low to the ground and hard for the hobbyist to jack up and get under! I got tired of dragging a floor jack from the back yard along with wood shoring and jack stands. Even then I really couldn't squeeze my portly body underneath. So today, after seeing on FBook, I ordered from Amazoo a hydraulic ramp that is affordable and will raise the car a lot higher. But of course they are about 90 pounds for the two. Gonna have to figure out a storage place for them. Heres a pic. About $200 delivered. I let members know how they worked out. Maybe someone here is already using them and could give a review.

I have a set of Quickjack that works very well. They fit under the car and it has two lift heights. I purchased a set from Quickjack that had been refurbished and they have been great. Doing brakes is easy, rear-end fluid change, and trans fluid change work great. And they lay flat so I store one under each car.

Quickjacks are really great but my pockets aren't deep enough for my casual use!

No Name. Just do a search for Hydraulic Car Ramps. The one that I bought was $124 + $89 shipping. Mine are 5K ramps versus the little bit cheaper 3K ramps. Only difference is the hydraulic jack rating.

Here's a video link video.

Dang! I should have done anAmazoo search for the cheapest price for the 5K. Just saw same one for $89 with "FREE Delivery!"
I just tried to cancel my order but have to wait one day for approval or not!

I use Rhino Ramps. Harbor Freight sells a knock off brand. Now I have four of them. They're light weight and the car drives up with no problems.
I'm saving up for a Quickjack. I would be able to use that on the Crossfire and my Frontier.

@Nelson G How high can the Quickjack go? Where can I get a refurbished one?
Thanks

I have those kind of ramps and they just don't get the car high enough for me to get under.

Hi Romad,
You might want to look at youtube for 5T start ramps reviews - a guy bought them and tried to get his truck up onto them - he ended up rolling over them since he couldn't feel the front stop. He probably should've marked where he should've stopped, but his truck was a manual and that's harder to do on an incline. Be careful.

Re: Hydraulic Ramps for the our Xfire Maintenance!
Lot of things wrong with this guy's efforts. Even though it's advertised as "Truck Ramps"
I would not have used them for trucks with manual shift. He needed to have stops on the floor to keep them from sliding forward. A safety observer/helper would have gone a long way as well to assist on guiding the vehicle on. The weight on the ramps should be held by the bottle jack and not the two 1" vertical safety posts. Only difference between a 3k rated ramp and a 5k rated ramp are the bottle jacks used,

Opinion: For my use on the Xfire they should work out just fine as long as they won't hit the front of the bumper before hitting the tires. Both my Xfires are automatics. Not too concerned with weight because front weight should be around 1800 lbs by my "guess" and a lot less if used on the rear. If I need to pull a tire, for break work, I will use jack stands under the front crossmember and pull the ramp out of the way. If it was just break work I wouldn't use the ramps anyways!

UPDATE: The order was cancelled and I ordered the less expensive set for $175 delivered. The $89, mentioned before, was for just one ramp.

You go to: https://quickjack.com/refurbished/

and you need to check every once and a while and they pop up. The item that is refurbished is the pump, the ramps they sent me were brand new. They also have what they call an open box. Also, I noticed that Costco will have them on sale.

With the blocks, it is about 21 inches. It was enough to do a trans service and rear-end fluid change, and the brakes were much easier as they were higher and not as much bending. I did purchase the blocks that line up with the jack points on the Crossfire.

Thank you for the info!
I'll check the site and look for a good deal.

Found out that storage for the ramps looks pretty easy. Stand them up back to back and take up very little floor space! The shipping box looked like it had been in an accident and missing the four security pins. Also no jack securing bolts. (Typical of FEDEX Delivery!)

Hi Romad,
I guess you haven't had a chance to try them with your crossfire, but when you do, please report back about how they work. Are they shallow enough so the front valance isn't caught as you drive up?
Thanks, sincerely
