Default Chrome Roll Bars

Has anybody retrofitted the rollbars from the roadster into the area behind the Coupe's seats? I was thinking this would look really great. Kinda like the Audi TT.

i've become very interested in this idea since you mentioned it. the roll bars assemblies are ~$100 each, and the plastic grommets are ~$12 each from Chrysler. I'll do some investigating "soon" on my friends car (maybe before Christmas, maybe after) and post back --

very cool idea.

I was just thinking... I think it would be very very hot to have those chrome bars back there... I bet there is enough room... just have to measure them and figure out how to install them.

got them! stay tuned.

FWIW, i found it interesting that the bars have the SAME part number (ie left and right bars are identical), but the rubber grommets are distinct and have FOUR different part numbers (?)

check this out for stainless steel roll bars:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Roadsterbuegel...QQcmdZViewItem

I am presuming that the std slk bars for the 170 are the same
this way you get stainless steel ones without the tabs
and for lots less bucks.

good find! my only problem with them is nothing else in the car is stainless; everything is that painted 'aluminum' color; i would definitely need them painted.

FWIW, $109 EUR = $130 US. if its for the pair thats a GREAT price... is its only for one its about on par with what i paid.

go for it BFreedman!

Thumbs up Re: Chrome Roll Bars

That's for the pair. You can always spray stainless steel with an ali paint!

The same pair are being sold for £169 on UK ebay + £30 p&p.

There are lots of other goodies at great prices for the slk 170 platform.
Neat door pins for $10 etc etc.
