Key casing swap

Default Key casing swap

Just wondering if anyone has tried to take apart the key fob.
If i buy one on ebay will i be able to swap it.

I think you can but no one been able to do it. Not sure if its heat sealed? Let us know what you find out.

I broke it good taking it apart. Other than the blade and the battery it is not really serviceable.

Can you salvage the internal guts? If so I can easily machine a casing from ABS plastic, then insert all your guts, sounds easier than done I know but would be a cool project. I could make a mold of mine and then just lay up fiberglass case.

I'd buy a new key case/fob/thingy. The gray just doesn't seem to suggest the coolness that is my car. What would be really cool would be a nice stainless or aluminum one.

Yes you can I gutted my broken case and made a new one out of a crossfire hotwheels car.
I really is my spare "Crossfire" key.

Note that when I got mine apart, it POPPED open violently and the transmitter/LED broke off the PC board. So now I have two keys that don't work! Argh!

Anyone have a detailed pic of the PC board inside a key? I would really love to know what part to replace the transmitter/LED with so I could fix my key.
