due to faulty TPS, just install a new TPS.

You have to replace the whole throttle body if it fails.
The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) contains two actual value potentiometers for detecting the position of the throttle
valve. The second potentiometer is designed to form a reference value. The system will switch over to the second
potentiometer if the first one fails. The TPS cannot be serviced separately. If the TPS fails, the Throttle Body must
be replaced.

hmmm, then how does that company claim to be able to rebuild the faulty DBW throttle bodies?

I guess you have to take one apart to be sure, maybe it's possible to install an AUX TPS?

The cars aren't badly built, it's the sub-suppliers (tier 1 etc.) that are building parts badly.

Hmm - now there's a thought.

It is absolutely a "drivetrain" part.

Chrysler would have a class action lawsuit on their hands if they tried to deny coverage.
