Fog light lens replacment DIY?
Anybody ever replace their fog light lens? I need your help if you have!!
My baby took a bullet (rock) for me the other day. I saw on-line what looks like the replacement part for $95 Is the lens part of the lamp housing? That's what it looks like.
Help! Anyone

Thanks guys.
Here's a nubie question - I'm assuming that the left and right parts are determined by being in the car, not looking at the car.
Do I have to take the front end off or can I get it from underneath?
Thanks again

For anyone that has a car under warranty, Chrysler will replace the fog light free under a TSB.
The fog lights you will get under warranty don't have the shield. There are two versions with the shield and neither last as the shield falls off and lays in the housing.

I did this yesterday after something shattered my light.
I ordered the new part which, of course, didn't have the shield. The old light can be removed by taking off the front tire and removing the access door. Remove the three TORX (special star-shaped head) screws and the plug and pull the assembly through the access hole. You can almost do it with the tire on, but not quite. Now, if you want to keep the shield-style light do this:
NOTE-Do this proceedure to the old, (already broken) lens first because you may want to "take a mulligan".
Un-clip the adjuster bracket from the inner light housing by screwing it towards the top end of the screw, then prying the three clips up at the bottom of the plastic bracket that moves with the inner housing when the inner housing bumps up on the outer. Then finish removing the adjuster from the inner housing by screwing it to the top and off and rotate it away (leave it attached to the outer housing).
I pryed the ears back from the outer housing this way: mount the housing in a vise 90 degrees away from the mounting ears to GENTLY squeeze the housing into an oval, then GENTLY pry one ear back to remove the inner housing. While its out, put a dab of JB weld on the shield to hold it on (mind-it is delicate!) If it hasn't fallen off yet, it will if you don't do this, then here you are again!
Now, duplicate this proceedure on the new assembly. Then, reverse the proceedure to install the old (shield) inner housing on the new outer housing. A little silicone spray on that big O-ring will help it slide right back in. At worst, if you break a tab, the adjuster, O-ring, and some tape will keep it from going anywhere and nobody has to know.
Good luck!

I ran over a big peice of a tire and the whole housing came out, lens and all... The bulb was still there hanging from the wiring, Will this assembly have the lens/housing also?
