Question Crossfire GPS

Has anyone used this feature or should I buy a Garmin or other type of portable GPS?

My wife has a Lexus which has a built in GPS that works great but this little screen and complex input, well, I just don't know if the Crossfires works or not.

Any thoughts?

Thank you,

If you have the Nav Radio then you have GPS.
In comparison to the newest GPS units the Nav unit is some what limited but gets the job done.
If you do not have the Nav Radio I can personally recommend the Garmin unit as both my Wife and son have and like them.

I use mine, and it works well. It doesn't have the fancy graphics, but the audible directions are excellent, and once you learn the basic info the screen provides it does the job well. The biggest issue is there are no updates to the CDs.

I still use my outdated Garmin c320. My wife made me a bean bag with velco on the GPS side, sewn on a non-skid pad on the bottom side (bought at RadioShack). I take it from car to car as needed - or have even lent it out on occasion. It can easily be placed on the floor, out of site when not using.

i made two trips to Toronto in '07. both times the factory nav was practically useless. it's really funny when you're on a one-way street and it tells you to go 200 yards and make a U-turn...which would end up putting you in the lake.

i have also "tested" the nav locally by letting it run while i go to places i know how to get to...a couple times i found myself driving in circles.

so, in my experience...the factory nav sucks.

You need to calibrate it. When I first bought mine I had the same issues, but it it works fine since I calibrated it.

HI FP

While my Factory Nav does not have all of the features of the latest units I have had no issues with it.
Your comment that the unit can be calibrated got my attention, as I was not aware of that adjustment.
Can you please advise us, were to look, to find out how to do this.

appreciate.

I use my nav all the time and I very rarely have any issues with it, now my wife has the My Gig GPS in her car which has all the bells and whistles and we have had some mis guidance with it also. It always gets me where I need to go.

It's in your NAV manual. I would post it, but I don't have it handy.

Its in the navigation manual in the last few pages of the booklet. You can also download the manual in the SRT6 section in the documentation sticky.

My car appears to have the NAV radio, but I have no disc. Is there a disc available for the UK? if so does anyone have a copy?

Thanks. Roy
