Red face Help Me Before I Break Something

Well, the dreaded trans leak has showed up on my garage floor. Naturally I want to check the trans fluid level. I find what appears to be a dip stick with some kind of locking top on it and a warning that only nuclear scientist have the required training to proceed beyond that point.

I decided to ask a real dumb question before I proceeded with the usual brute force and ignorance approach:

Is that the dip stick (of course it is) and how do you pull it out without breaking it? It looks like you hold the button down and pull. Is that right?

The same thing happened to me last week and I only have 9600 miles on her. You can't check the fluid, so it has to be taken in to do that. It states that in your manual. A common problem with our cars is the electrical plug, which the dealer replaced. So good luck and hopefully it isn't anything serious.

While I like manual transmissions, I would have to give up the AMG blower motor. Unless of course I did a little hot rodding and dropped one into my SRT6. Living in L.A. the autostick is definitely the way to go. I've always got my VMAX when I feel the need for some power shifting.

I was foolin' around with the size and fonts and didn't get it back to normal.

Yep, mine's in for the tranny leak right now-among other things.

Warranty?

20,000 loved miles.
