Default Front fender splash shield part numbers

When I bought the Xfire the right front splash slield was broken. This is the piece of plastic that has an access door to get to the back of the fog lights. It consists of two part, the shield and an access door.

From Chrysler the shield is P/N 05097998aa at $93.77 and the access door is P/N 05097958aa at $15.47. The assembly (both parts) is P/N 05098682aa at $154. No mistake just dumb pricing.

Part from MB is P/N 1706902030 at $52.50 for the assembly. I know its cheaper at Benz Auto Parts.com - Select Part but I needed to see the item first.
It looked the same and will work but does require a little triming to fit. The fender and bumper of the xfire must be slightly different than the SLK320 since that's where the triming is needed. Just FYI for those who may need either side.

BTW the part number on the old shield is A1938840222 and I can't find that either from MB or Mopar.

Good to know! Thanks for finding the info. I'm sure it will be needed by a few of us in the future.

On the way home today a semi lost a tire right in front of me; couldn't avoid running over a piece of it and it cracked my front fender liner (right below the foglight access door).

I can't find the part on this site: https://www.1stchryslerparts.com/index.php

Any other ideas where I can buy one of these online, I need the passenger (right hand) side?

edit: miss-post to wrong thread.

Anywho, what sort of trimming did you have to do to get the cover to fit? Anything serious?

What would you estimate as total project time? I'm probably going to do the swap out next weekend and would like to know what to expect. Thanks!

30 minutes. Take old one to MB and compare before you buy.

Found the same part # for less than $30 online, so I'll be ordering that. If they send the incorrect part, guess who's getting a chargeback?

Parts.com I believe. If not, I'll have to check again, and no idea what the shipping was. Sorry I'm drawing blanks...... @ work currently ;/
