I don't know how he plans on having that happen, but that's what my translation of his gibberish comes out to in my mind.
BC.
I find that 1-2 is not actually that bad, it seems to be a positioning problem more than anything. Watch somebody else try it or pay attention to how your holding the stick. Because of the close quarters people tend to grab the stick from the right hand side. Also because its so close they tend not use the whole arm to shift just the wrist, that's where the problem is exaggerated. Just using the wrist leads to a pull that is in the direction of 4th instead of straight down. As a test grab the stick from the top with your fingers(feels and looks weird i know) and don't rest your arm on the console. Pull down with slight pressure towards the driver side and it should go in every time. Once you get used to the position of the gear you should be able to hit it every time regardless of how your holding the stick, just takes a while to get used to. Don't forget to row the gears back also, going from 3-2 helps embed that second gear position into muscle memory. I still miss it from time to time but that's mostly during some rush hour I95 zombie driving.
I'm not so sure. I think I know what he means, but I drove a 02 Lancer OZ and 96 Integra both 5 speed and both shifted much smoother than my xfire. But still I <3 my car more than my Lancer and teggy put together. But my god the xfire 1st gear is so freakin short.

Stuckhere,
Definitely glad to see you posting and being active in the forum, but keep an eye out for the date on the most recent post... unless it's something life changing and not mentioned in the thread before...I'd suggest keeping it buried in the cemetary of the archives.
Other than that, glad to see you are parusing the nether regions looking for gems of info.
