Default Installing cold air intake

Hey everyone...I'm pretty new to this site (as you can probably tell haha) and I am looking to get a nice intake kit for my 05 srt6. I have read nearly every thread on here about intakes and some people talk up K&N and some talk it down. Which brand should I go with? I hear a lot about needswings but I don't know much about them. What do you all recommend as some of the top of the line cold air intake kits? Also I tried searching the website but I had a hard time finding an actual "How to: Install a cold air intake" Does anyone have a website or a thread about installing one? Thanks to any help

punch in, CAI install into the search feature...go thru all the threads concerning the cai...its good reading....Tom2112 did a review last yr on it...read that one as well...you can do the single or pony up for the dual...either will give you nice power...caution! Once you do your first mod, well, you are hooked and more mods will have to happen....

oh believe me I've read just about every thread under "CAI" and all intake posts. I'm just ignorant to all the brands and some of the abbreviations used haha. I just like getting opinions from people that actually have them installed. So did you order from needswings.com?

Rob at Needswings is an excellent fellow to do business with.
You can order directly from his website: Performance auto parts & aftermarket auto accessories for your car, specializing SRT4, Crossfire SRT6, SLK32, C32 AMG, VR-4
or PM him from this forum. Once purchased, the CAI will come with step-by-step installation instructions in .pdf format on a CD. Just print out the instructions & voila', you're good to go! The install, even for an all-thumbs guy like myself, was a snap & took about an hour of my time.

That being said, the other CAI providers also have excellent products - the choice is entirely up to you!

awesome! thanks for the help. One more questions, what tools would I need? I have pretty basic tools and I'm worried that I might need a complex tool or something?

There's a tool list included with the instructions BUT, if I can remember correctly, nothing out of ordinary except perhaps a Torx wrench.
Trust me, Hersh - it's a snap!
