Default Fog Lamp restoration?

OK, I know the fog lamps are glass and most kits are designed to refresh plastic headlights. I have a bit of road rash on my fog lamps and I would like to see if there is a way to sand them down and polish them clear. Most headlight kits say for plastic only. Is there a way to buff the fog lamps clear? If so, please share with me what to use.

glass can be polished with jewelers rouge, but doubtful you can remove pitting. If you cover them with vinyl like "xpel", they will look better

I was going to suggest this too, but then I realized there might be lifting issues from the air trapped in the pits. Maybe a really good cleaning and spray them with clear? That should fill the pits?

Mine have a "film" in them... like, inside the housing. This is no doubt from the years of daily driving, but it's still annoying. Especially when I know it's just dust/dirt, but there's no easy way to remove them.

These things come apart quite easily! Remove the whole assembly and you'll see small tabs holding the lens on. Remove and clean away!
