Default 2004 Crossfire Ambient Temperature Sensor Replacement

Hi. Just bought my first Crossfire and ordered a spare key and Skreem unit from Rob. Other than the tire sensors batteries probably original and probably need replacement of the tire sensors, all I really needs is the missing ambient temperature sensor, which arrived tomorrow. I assume I just have to plug it in and see if it corrects the -37 degree display. Does it also control the automatic climate control function??? I wonder why a previous owner removed it? I

.love this car but like all of us, fear future repair costs. It only has 47,000 original miles on it, and so far everything else appears to work well, so I guess I am very fortunate. Any comments about the temp.sensor repair appreciated.
