Have you tried to synchronize the FOB's to the car yet? The procedure is in the owners manual. This sometimes happens when the batteries are left out of the FOB's too long or they die and you don't replace them before the memory is lost. I am hoping you placed the batteries in the FOB's in the right order? Good luck.

✓ & ✓ I'm not overly concerned as long as the car still operates. I rarely drive it.

you most likely have a water leak letting water get to the central locking pump in your trunk, pull out the trunk carpet on the passenger side, remove the foam insert and checkout the pump/connections for water evidence.

I second that comment by NeedsWings about checking out the right side 'trunk' under the foam inserts. If you have it (damage) there you'll not be driving it much longer, as a lot of 'stuff' that makes the car go runs through and is affected by that module. Good luck.
