Default Question about TSBs

Sorry I am new to the site. How do TSBs work? Does the dealer have to do them? Do they fall under the warrenty? Where can a find a list of them? I have a '04 SSB Autostick. Can't believe I just found this site.

Thank you in advanced.

Here is a list til last June. ALL 2004 and 2005 TSB's as of 6/24/2005. There is at least one other that i can think of...something to do with the cooling fan . I'm sure you can find them if you search the site.
I believe these are all covered by warranty.

I took a look at the list of TSB's provided by vsilvia, is there a place on DC's website where we can view the actual TSB to see what it entails and if it applies to our particular vehicle?

How are owners supposed to know about TSB's?

Short answer: TSB's (Technical Service Bulletins) are designed to pass on information to the technician and are not readily available to the consumer.

There are web sites that list TSB's, but none that I have seen are complete. It usually takes compiling a list from different sites.

Thanks Ben47. I attempted to get the TSB's from vsilvia, by putting "2005 TSB's" in the subject line but I didn't get a response. Is vsilvia still sending the TSB's out?

Hello All! I too am new to this site. I just purchased a pre-owned 2004 XF Autostick. I was wondering about the TSBs as well. I just did some surfing on the net to see if there were any recalls. I couldn't find any until I stumbled on Edmunds and found 17 TSBs for the 2004 XF. I plan on giving my dealer a call to see if any of these items have been fixed on the car. I haven't really been driving it, since I twisted my right ankle a few weeks ago. I have only taken the XF out three times since I bought on Feb 5, 2006.

Drive on!

A TSB and a recall are two different things.

A TSB is only an info/reference thing to help technicians troubleshoot/fix a certain problem that may be giving them trouble. Unless an owner takes a car in for a specific problem that has a TSB, nothing will be done. There is no notification to the consumer from the manufacture that there are TSB's out on the car.

Example... unless you complain about headlight condensation, nothing will be done to correct it, TSB out or not. A recall is a different animal. The manufacture will notify owners of a serious issue that needs to be fixed.

I hope this made sense, if not maybe someone else can explain it better.
