Question Hello...and UK Meet 9th/10th August near Northampton

I picked up my first Crossfire yesterday and I'm loving it. This is my fourth Chrysler, having owned 3 PT Cruisers previously and having been an organiser of the UK owners club at www.ukcruisers.net until recently.

The PT club has been very active for several years and there are usually meets occurring every weekend throughout the summer season. Are there any Crossfire meets in the south central area? And are any UK CrossfireForum members based in Hampshire?

Cheers
Chris

See all the details of this here on the UK pages of the forum. https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ad.php?t=26226 We are a small but keen bunch, but are growing slowly. There are contributors from many parts of the country, read the threads and you will soon see whats going!

Cheers Steve . A real shame that I missed last week's meet.

The UK Cruisers 8th annual Picnic in the Park is taking place the weekend of 9th/10th August at Billing Aquadrome near Northampton. Typically around 200 PT Cruisers turn up over the two days, and anything else MOPAR related is always welcome (previous years have seen Vipers, Crossfires, and Paul Marston's drag racing PT Bruiser in attendance, the latter also expected this year). Would any Crossfire owners be interested in attending? I'll be there both days this year in my new car.

Cool Re: Hello...

Yes this sounds interesting - the Crossfires would fit nicely with the PT's. Lets see what reaction the Xfire owners make to this idea. I would certainley like to attend, though I am due to start new job and may be away during most of August but will see>
Cheers Steve

Hope you and others can make it...Crossfires parking up together won't be a problem and there's plenty going on over the weekend, including trade stalls and a Hawaiian themed bring-several-bottles party on the Saturday night. If anyone wants to stay overnight Saturday, tents are fine or there's a Premier Travel Inn (Great Billing) adjoining the Aquadrome.

Sadly, I’ll be on holiday that week and unavailable, otherwise I'd be plotting another long journey.

I like PT Cruisers, so I'm OK with the idea of joining in if they’d let us.

Hi Chris,
There are three Crossfire owner that I know of living in Hampshire on the South Coast..One at Hedge End, one New Forest and me at Fareham, all along the M27. This weekend was out for me, but keep the posts coming regarding meets, I certainly would attend, and feel other Xfire owners would also be interesting in attendig PT Cruiser meet's.

A few will require a pub selling real ale to be close!! ( UK Ken & Steve UK for starters)

Cheers

Ken.

Hi Chris,
I would be interested in coming along, but unfortunately am away doing one of my other hobbies at an astronomy star party in darkest Yorkshire that weekend. It seems other Crossfire owners are interested as well, so I will watch to see if other events attract some Crossfire owners when I can make it.

cheers,

Paul

H Chris. Jane and I are up for the Northampton Aquadrome PT Cruiser meet on 9/10 Augest. We can make either Saturday or Sunday.

I will wait and see if other xfire owners are attending before nominating which day. We may well stay over the weekend as we intend to visit Jane's family in Northampton, so either day will be fine.

Cheers

Ken & Jane

Thumbs up Re: Hello...

Thanks for the welcome Valkryderguy.

So...it looks as though there's some interest for the Billing meet...nice one. Sunday looks the preferred day at the moment, but I'm sure it will be fine if anybody wishes to attend on either day (as I mentioned, I'll be there for both). I'll firm up arrangements a bit closer to the time.

The details for Billing Aquadrome are:

Crow Lane
Great Billing
Northampton
NN3 9DA

See www.aquadrome.co.uk

There is an admission charge per car of £10 (assuming it's the same as last year). This is levied by the Aquadrome, not UKC. The event is held in Puddleduck Place, a fully enclosed showfield. Once through the gates, follow the signs for PITP (Picnic in the Park) to the field.

Cars will be arriving from late Friday although the show doesn't actually start until around 10am on both Saturday and Sunday. I intend to arrive around late morning on the Saturday and will be staying through to Sunday. There will be catering and toilets as well as trade stalls on the field as well as plenty of other options within the park.

I'll be happy to provide my mobile number via private message. No need to confirm attendance with UKC...I'll check with the organisers to make sure it's ok.

UPDATE...UKC has confirmed that we are more than welcome to attend.

Cheers
Chris

Post Re: Hello...

Just to add here what I've posted in another thread, the event at Billing Aquadrome is the 8th annual meeting of the national PT Cruiser owners club so cars in attendance will be mainly PTs. The organisers have always welcomed attendance by owners of other MOPAR models however, and some previous years have seen a handful of Vipers and Crossfires show up, as well as Paul Marston's awesome PT Bruiser...

http://www.paulmarstonracing.com/

...and last I heard Paul will be bringing it (or one of team's other drag cars) to PITP.

The event takes place in one of the show fields and we will be parking up with the PTs...in other words, we won't be kept in a separate car park...and we will be free to take part in any events going on.

Post Re: Hello...

As it's been asked elsewhere, and to clarify, Crossfires parking up together is the intention and I'll sort that out on both days. It won't be a problem as there's plenty of space on the field.

If anyone attending could send me a pm with their mobile phone number, that would be great and I'll do the same by return.

Cheers.
