I have a horrid feeling that I may have missed the deadline for getting this sorted out. The beginning of this year has been rather tense and fraught, and doing car club things has not been at the top of the list. Am I still in with a chance of getting to this?
After going to the Wheels Day this weekend and experiencing the differences with the Lichfield Cars in the Park, I am going to change this. This event requires a commitment and is a more organised formal event that guaging the response so far I think will be challenging for us this year to achieve ( maybe OK for future years ).
I'm not going ahead with this but if folk are interested we could go with a turn up on Saturday if you want to just visit Cars in the Park , have a meal in the evening and go to the local Stately Home ( Shugborough ) combined with a "cruise" on Sunday. Or just cruise and visit on the Sunday.
It seems that there may be an advantage getting closer to the PT Cruiser folk who already have an established programme of events, and less of our own events.
Let me know if you are interested in this weekend, or with the proximity of the Billing Aquadrome meet a month later means that we just forget this altogether.
Please respond and let me know.

Hi Paul..beeblebrox..
Jane and Ken are keen on the weekend suggestion..Car viewing, food, stalely home, and a cruise before we depart on Sunday.
With the weekend Cars in the park event..we should book Saturday night accommation, if required ASAP..I will hold of doing so until we see what interested..if any..is generated for the weekend meet.

I'm going to be there on the Sat for the Car Event whatever happens. Im also up for making it a weekend meet if we can get some more takers - we can then fix up an evening meal and plenty of "thirst-quenchers" as well!
Lets see what committment we can get for this.
PS The George Hotel is very close to the event and very reasonable!

Jane and Ken are definitely up for this one. Have heard reports that this is a car event not to miss.
As Steve-UK said earlier, let's try and make this a record turn out of Crossfires. We have to exceed twelve to achive this..remember our frined FP's visit..twelve xfire's turned out.
Perhaps FP could pop over for this meet..
UKKen.

********** UPDATE *********
With the other commitments people have and difficulties with accomodation in the area ( everything is booked up !! ) I am downsizing this to meet up on the Saturday and go to Cars in the Park on the Sunday, or if you want to just meet on Sunday. I envisage this as a visit to see the cars only, rather than display as it needs some organising if we were to display.
There is accomodation Saturday evening in a hotel 3 miles away , the Holiday Inn Express :
http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ex/...rpb=rate&ias=y
£40 - £45 a night including continental breakfast ( next door to a McDonalds).
Let me know if you are going to this.
Regards,
Paul

This will now be a "one day meet" for me - Either day will do, depending on when anyone else will be there. This is a very popular event and hotel rooms are scarce.

Just to confirm that Jane and Ken will be attending. I have sorted out our accomodition and can make either Saturday or Sunday to view the cars and touch base with other crossfire owners attending.
I guess closer to the time we arrange which day and a time/meet location.
Cheers
Ken.

Currently only Beeblebrox... Steve-UK and UKKen have confirmed they will be attending this one day meet.
Should more xfire owners attend then perhaps we could arrange a cruise as well as viewing the cars at the show.
Hope to see a few new faces and xfire's..as its fairly local for some of you listed crossfire owners.

I should be able to make either day, so will probably go up on the Saturday and camp over for the Sunday - then I'm off to Germany for the GP the following weekend
Simon..Thats great news...depending on the others attending, perhaps we could all meet for a pub meal sometime. Can discussed closer to the time.
Cheers
Ken.

This would be a good opportunity for new members to attend, its a good location and pretty central. I can attend on either, or both days and if the weather is good, camping would be an ace idea!
ps. xfire is nearly ready now, all paint and mechanicals sorted and a full laser tracking set up just to make sure. Just the nearside sill to refit now and I hope to colect it on Monday PM for a good shake down test! While in the workshop I also had a few other little marks and dings taken care of so should be looking good. Im ready to carry out a good clean and wax polish treatment now!

Unfortunately this seems to be an inconvenient date for most folk, so cancelling the event and hope to meet up in August with everyone. If any of the "locals" just want to meet up and go to "Cars in the Park" I will be going anyway, contact me and we can arrange to meet up.
