General Up Date...Once I receive menu's and prices..from three Hotels/Inn in Dorchester on Thames main high street. I will post location details etc All three have ample car parking

Forteen, members and guests have confirmed they will be attending the Christmas lunch. If intending to join us for lunch the sooner I know the better, as I would like to try and arrange that we all sit/eat togrther..

If you are considering staying over the Saturday before the Sunday Xmas lunch..Send me a PM and I will forward detail of a lovely Inn in the village where the room rate has been reduced for us Xfire owners...other's pay full price. I have stayed here before and every thing was fine.

Both Steve, Andrea, myself and Jane have book in the Saturday. We may well be found in the bar that evening and hopefully Jon and April may join us..we hope so.

Weather permitting, perhaps aftrer lunch we could have a Xfiire convoy maybe down to Hendly on Thames , park-up and have a amble around town or a stroll along the rivers edge..this may be need after a Christmas lunch.

Yes Henley is very expensive and rather up market -
Trouble is, we will just blend into the place with the Crossfires and look like locals!

Parking is usually difficult in Henley, but on a December Sunday we should be able to
park on the riverside on "Thames Side" which is nice and there are coffee shops etc there.
The main car parks are well away from town center, ie, railway station.

 

I'm pleased its HENLEY and not HEADLY we are visiting..oh for a instant speller checker !!

Don’t you have a spell checker?

If you have a Mac, in most apps these days, you can go to Edit>Spelling and Grammar and choose the Check Spelling while Typing option. I don’t know how Windows handles this kind of thing, but I’d be surprised if there wasn’t a similar option buried somewhere.

Currently I have fourteen booking's ( seven Xfires's) for the Christmas bash, as listed in earlier post.

I hope other Xfire owners can make the lunch. It would be great to have a full house on the day. As well as a Christmas meet, its almost a year since our Xfire group started..so another good reason to celebrate.

If your a new Xfire owners and have never attended any meets...your more than welcome to join us and share in the fun and banter, and the Xfire convoy country drive afterwards

This is a charming small old Inn with excellent food, accommadition and real Ale..I've stayed there before. Do note the car park entrance is very narrow, and will take around 10/12 cars..there is also safe street parking right outside the Inn

The three course lunch is £19.95 with various food options available. A deposit of £10.00 per person is required, due one month before the lunch date. When making payment do mention the car club lunch on Sun 7th Dec and Ken Hallett as a reference..

I suggest we meet in the bar (this will keep Steve-UK happy!) and have lunch around 1pm, which should give us time afterwards for a Xfire convoy to Henley on Thames, which is a lovely town located along side the river Thames..Lets hope for a dry day..

Currently we have fourteen booked for lunch..If you have not booked and want to attend the lunch..let me know ASAP and I will add you to the list..

I phoned them, and they seem blissfully unaware of this. They will be calling me back. I have a table booked for the two of us, but no deposit paid.

 

Hi Paul, whoever you spoke to got it wrong.

All arrangment's are as previous started for the Xmas lunch.. The owner informs me that the table for fourteen on the 7th December is book and confirmed.

There is now no need to place a deposit, as there happy for us to pay on the day.
