It’s a nice colour, but I think it’s just too much red. It’s dark, heavy, but one which will benefit from breaking up. The cars where the silver trim works the best are the darker colours - the blacks, reds and machine greys. The trim breaks the colour up, but adds a spark to the car’s appearance.

Silver will pick up the red through reflection, but you may want to consider another metallic. I’d suggest trying a light blue, or even a gold - is there a way you can get some colour swatches to try them out in situ before committing? Of course, if you do this, then you may want to treat the flashes on the side of the car in the same fashion so it doesn’t look too isolated - carry the theme to the other accents.

Hi Andy.

Give it a go. Some times you need to paint these bits, fit them, stand back and see if it works. If you don't like it, you can always go back to the old colour .

Hi Bodyman

I'm with you all the way on that , As i still have 1/2 tin of Red paint left over . I always think the dark grey on the grilles go alittle too light after a few years & do not work colour wise & need freshing up , Any way the Wife was looking at the chrome options , So as i had the paint to hand .

Cheers

Hi Andy.

I quite like the chrome grilles. I keep looking at the body colour. Thinking of changing it to white. Then would it be the only RH drive white Crossfire in the UK.?

Hi Jon

I do like the white Xfires . I believe they only did L/H drive White Xfires , So that could be the only R/H white Xfire in the world , now thats a very good starting point . Would you go for the black rims & the blacked out windows , could you carry off that much bling (i'm not sure i could) .

Cheers

HI Jon...There are currently lots of black Xfire body parts and trim from an 07 vehicle for sale on UK ebay. I agree with Andy, this could be the first step in having the only white RHD Xfire in the UK..

Go on Jon, you know deep down it what you have always wanted..You and I spoke about this the first time we meet ..Dec 30th 2008 in a wet service station car park off the M4 with a bunch of other keen Xfire owners. I'm so very please our groups meets have gained a bit of style with the improved locations!

Cheers

I konw Ken. I keep talking about it. Its such a lot of work to do correctly. A complete strip down. The engine bay strip out, doors off etc. And will my grey trim go with white body? May be a complete new black retrim?

Hi Jon

Have you looked at buying a White import & making it R/H drive from a UK write off , Then you will have the correct trim , As you said if you do not strip back to 'body in white' it will always look like a respray job . Loads of imports on ebay . Red/White White/Red . Why do we do this to ourselfs .

Cheers

Andy

What about this for a bit of inspiration. This guy told us that this car was brand new in black when he painted it. It was a full strip down including engine bay! The interoir was also trimmed in pink!
