2009 Calendar
Some of them aren’t mine. There seem to be few shots from that particular meet, which is promising. Mine are on the second page, with people in the background tactfully removed in Photoshop...
A lot of good pictures there.

Ah - I wondered whose they were. It’s a real shame the weather was so over cast that day, so all the colours looked rather flat. With the weather we’ve had more recently, my car has sparkled. I’ve just not been able to get somewhere decent with it for photography. Ho hum.
A thought.. Come December 30th 2008 our UK group will have been formed for a year..
Providing the process is not to difficult or expensive to achive, how about considering our own 2009 UK Xfire Calendar?
We have plenty of pictures between us to submit and rather than just showing the Crossfire, include pictures of the owner's and their vehice's.
Taking it a little futher..have the months dates shown with enough space to be able to mark in future meets..
Thoughts and comments please.... and is there a genius in our UK owners group that has the know how to achive the above.
Kenny Boy..

If we can find a decently priced print on demand outfit in the UK, so much the better. Ideally, one which will hold a PDF of the calendar and print/bind as people buy, or better still one which does calendars as an option to which we just upload images.
Print on demand, like Café Press (which is US based) offer a range of products which you can customise with your own logos. Printing only happens when someone actually buys a product, so there won’t be unwanted stock kicking about.

Guys, If you wanted to do this over in the UK, I am sure some internet based/local store can handle your order. We have dozens on-line that will do it here in the US. Check around. Each person could have there own printed and sent to their home using the same pics - just make the folder/photos available for 'sharing'.
Here are some examples of US based companies:

UK Xfire Calendar update.....My thoughts are for a personal Calendar for the regular UK Xfire owners who have attended the meet's or posted their interested in doing so....It is not a Calender for other xfire owners to purchase......But I belive the FXi International Xfire Calender will be.
It would consist of twelve picture's submited only by those intending to purchase, 12 max, therefore the pictures can be more personal with the owners included if they wish.
There is little point in progressing further with the calender idea, unless there is a real interest in doing so. Provisional cost for a standard hanging calender with our Xfire picture's will be approximately £6-£10..other options on calender style, size and cost's are available
I await your responce and comments...None received so UK Calendar idea canceled..

Well, the caledrads are ready, and our cars feature!

I believe that one of my shots is in the smaller or the two available, and FP’s shot is in the larger one. Not bad considering that we make up a very small percentage of the drivers on this forum.

Paul...Great pictures of the two UK cars in the Xfi calendar's. I'm temped with the larger one..as its a real good shot of all out cars from the FP meet.
Its a shame there was no interest shown regarding a UK version displaying all our Xfires.

Steve..Good idea to give the UK Calendar another bash and see if more of us are interested the second time around. I would perfer if someone else picked up this project now, as the next couple of month are really busy for me.
I checked a few calender print companys and felt that http://.lulu.com/uk/ was the cheapest and also they accepted order for under 50 calenders..other were 50 plus.
Cheers

I'm just picking up on this thread. Is there anyone with the will to do this now ? I would submit some photos, I would need to find a photogenic location and weather light conditions to take some more of my car.
With Woody, Paul ( Hairydalek ) photos also the group photos that already exist and and some members adding a few personal ones, then a varied collection could be made up.
Is it worth setting up an account on Flikr or similar to publish photos sent by members to get a collection together and choose 12 ? It wouldn't take much to do , I don't mind volunteering unless anyone has more experience of this and is interested ?
The LULU option looks very good, £8.50 to £10.50ish depending on size and quality, it seems to be flexible enough that we don't need any commitment up front, folk can buy as they want.
I would buy some as xmas presents and for myself.
Who is keen ?

Paul...Count me in for three or four, subject to calendar size and cost..
I suggest that we go for a hanging large size to ensure our Xfire show up well...but i guess we could also mix sizes if required by owners.

Ken.
I have created a FLIKR accoun called xfireuk .
I suggest you either
1. send me your photos to upload
or
2. tell me which ones from the forum galleries to put up and I can copy the low res picture to look at
or
3. PM me and I will send you the account details to upload your own directly to it That will work for a handfull of us if we take it in turns.
The idea is to put up ones to choose from , we can then use the high res versions to publish from.
Any other suggestions welcome
Any takers to kick us off ?
Paul
