Mercedes Benz World and Brooklands 20th September
After a conversation at Billing a few of us thought about going to Mercedes Benz World and Brooklands Museum and the 20th September looks favourite. It is off the M25 at Weybridge in Surrey - KT13 OSL
www.Mercedes-Benz.co.uk/World
There seems to be a few things to do including looking at a collection of classic Mercedes, some F1 cars and there seems to be a decent cafe. If anyone wants to you can pay for a "driving experience". It is also the home of the Brooklands Museum. Suggest meet up at the Merc bit, maybe take some photos for the calendar
And then after lunch off to the Brooklands museum. The Brooklands museum costs £9 per adult

A century of history
The Brooklands Museum opened in 1991 on 30 acres of the original motor racing circuit. Its fascinating exhibits from the history of motor sports and aviation and regular themed events attract over 100,000 visitors annually.
Step back in time
From the original Edwardian Clubhouse to the Motoring Village, both fully restored, the museum is dedicated to keeping the ‘Spirit of Brooklands’ alive by taking visitors on a captivating journey through the glory days of aviation and motoring. In the Campbell Shed you can discover the history of the Brooklands Circuit, and see some of the legendary cars that raced there. The Grand Prix Exhibition features Formula One cars driven by racing heroes such as Senna and Hakinnen, and few could fail to marvel at the unique Napier-Railton.
A flying start
The museum’s hangars also house over 30 historic aircraft, including a Vickers VC10, the ‘R for Robert’ WWII bomber, salvaged from Loch Ness, and the recently restored ‘Delta-Golf’ Concorde, which forms part of the unique new Concorde Experience – an unmissable highlight of any trip to Brooklands. In fact, there is so much to see and do at Brooklands Museum, you may have to save some of it for the next time you visit.

We spent a day at Mercedes World last year . A good day out. lots of old and new Mercs to see over 3 floors. My lad went on the driver experience. He drove a B class Merc around a small part of the old Brookland race circuit. Not sure if I would go again so soon but it would make a great place to meet.

Ah - the day after International Talk Like a Pirate Day.
I reckon we could make it. Have you got an idea on prices? It can’t be all free - or is it?

Hi All
No longer a Crossfire owner, but Jane and Ken would love to attend this meet and touch base once more. I promise to park away from the Crossfire line-up
Will this be cool with other Crossfire owners?
Cheers

Ken,
I'm sure you are very welcome indeed. I look forward to meeting up again and if you do feel the need to shed a tear.. please not on the paintwork !

Both of us are looking forward to touching base again. No tears, but still lots of regrets at selling the Crossfire. Have purchase a BMW 320d SE Touring with a few added bits including Xenon lamps. Delivery in a week or so.
See you all soon.
Ken & Jane.

How about a 10:30 start at the Merc place, then move on to Brooklands after an early lunch ? Anyone arriving later could have my mobile number and we can arrange meeting up.
