Tyre sealant etc...
Hi all
Still suffering from 'Crossfire Grin' after picking up my 2005 Roadster last week!
A couple of technical Q's....the tyre sealant canister has a use by date of 2009 printed on it, but a new canister is £150 (!) - should I be replacing it?
Also hoping to take it to LeMans soon - always carried spare fan belt in cars in past but they are £50 from Chrysler - anyone sourced a Mercedes parts specialist that does engine parts for us at Internet prices?
Cheers
Sven (thats' with a grin!)

Better to carry a tire plug kit, and the air compressor that came with the car

Hi, where are you based? The belts on these engines have never been known to fail and there is no need to carry a spare. If you are in the UK your car will not have tyre pressure sensors. Tyre repair kit will remain usable for years past sell by date - but, only use as last resort. Carry a seperate spare tyre repair sealent £10.00 Halfords. This is ok for nails and small puntures and will get u home. Cheap puncture plug kits for DIY road side use are on Ebay and also worth carrying foor biger holes.
Check out www.ukcrossfires.co.uk for info on UK meets and car info'
PS - Le mans - There is likely to be others going down from Midlands area for the 2011 LeMans 24hr !

I went 2 years ago just for the last 6 hours whilst on holiday in France.
Oh, and congratulations to Sven on his new purchase.
Many thanks for the advice, Steve.
I'm in Derby so will keep my eye open for meets in the area - very impressed with the knowledge and speed of replies here - great to meet people who know stuff!
Off to Halfords then!

Hi, I went to Le Mans last year and reckon I was the only Crossfire there ! Lamborghinis, Ferraris, common as anything ! I also had photos of the car taken by the French standing on motorway bridges and at islands on my way back to the ferry Sunday evening. Had a great time.
I reckon its time for a return to Le Mans in 2011 - we just missed this one! I was last there back in 2006 so well overdue.
Lets advertise this and see if we can get a few together!
