Hello Ken,

Hope you are well.

You do indeed have to remove the center section. There are 2 nuts located in storage compartment with the lid, there is a small piece of carpet that can be removed to access these. There are a further 2 screws located underneath the panel with the electric window switches. Once you have removed these you will need to remove the sleeve from the handbrake - I use a long thing screwdrive to wedge in and then spray WD40 using the little straw - it pops right off without a fight!

Once all these bits are off, the consol should be lifted upward and forward - dont pull too hard as the electric side mirror switch is still connected - you may need to disconnect the plug on the switch before screwing in the cup holder

Finally you can screw in the cup holder - should have 4 torx screws to allow you to do this. It sounds like a long process - but it shouldn't take more than 30 mins to do the whole job - but take it slowly and dont pull to hard or apply to much pressure when attempting to remove the parts, and make sure they are well seated and secured on reassembly.

Let me know how you get on - if I wasn't so far away I would offer to do it for you.

I would be interested in purchasing the storage bin that you are replacing. PM me a price

Regards

AR

I wish I had not got one as there's no way I would ever use it as I would be too frightened of knocking the drink over with my arm and spoiling the carpet
I did that in my last Jaguar before owning the crossfire and never going to use cupholders in the centre console ever again

Isn't this cupholder everybody's nightmare on here with it coming up when it's not supposed to I just hope while holding a drink it doesn't decide to dispense it he he.

I thought people were taken them out not putting them back in he he

Since purchasing xfire center cup hold..I have discovered a better double cup option...and I wont have to remove anything.

Details and pictures to follow as and when fitted.

The new xfire centre cup hold is now up for grabs...if anyone is interested?

I never liked the appearance of the black bin and fitted the holder which looks much better. Its a bit of a fiddle to fit but worth it!
