Guys please help, i need to have my baby serviced that is - its a 2005 (feb) & only done 34,000 miles so want to treat it well... by doing the right thing & getting the guys at chrysler in aberdeen scotland to service it & give it a MOT.

So when they quoted £580 for the service & £50 for the MOT, i'm now thinking of going somewhere else.

Has any body got any ideas what i should be paying or where to go (i don't mind driving there). The dashboard shows the small spanner & i think it has already had the big one done (i better check that - as i haven't had it long).

Shop around the dealers or find an independent Mercedes garage. £50 for an MOT they must be having a laugh, no-one pays that much, I have mine booked with local dealer for £35, and last service (the wipe it with an oily rag one) was just over £200 but have found dealer in Stoke who quoted @ £160 ish all in.

 

My last service (A) was £212 at a large independent service and MOT centre where mine is one of 4 Xfirs that they service. I think that the MOT was close to £50. You can always find somewhere that does an MOT for £25, but they will also manage to find another £50 to £100 of MOT failures to bump up the price.

 

There's an independent ex- Merc guy near St Helens / Wigan who is happy to do Crossfires. Seems to know his stuff and quoted me £350 + VAT for major service (oil & filter, spark plugs, fuel filter, I didn't need air or cabin filters.) Called SGN Autos. Part of the Good Garage Scheme.
