Hi all,

I find myself increasingly tempted by a manual Crossfire Cabriolet. I have one rather serious reservation, and one lighter inquisition.

My serious concern is regarding the rear window, and its trend of falling out of our American friends' roadsters. Now I hear this is mainly a high temperature/humidity problem, mainly affecting people in places like Florida. My question is; have any UK owners suffered any adhesive issues with the rear window? It sounds pretty dangerous...

Another thing I've noticed about American Crossfires is that they seem to have a higher percentage of cedar and vanilla interior models. Over here I've seen only a handful of cedar models for sale on Autotrader and just one vanilla in the past three or four months. And yet there are plenty of nasty grey interiors on sale. Is it that British buyers are just more conservative with interiors trim colours? Or maybe the interesting colours were limited edition or a cost option over here?

P.S. I realise colour is entirely subjective, but a black cabriolet with vanilla interior is absolutely gorgeous!

 

before i bought my blaze red auto coupe which has a black interior, i tried a black roadster with a vanilla interior which had previously belonged to a member of the drifters, looked pretty but didnt like the manual gearbox, and by the way have read about the some US owners having problems with the rear window but have never heard of it happening in the UK...chris

 

seems to be a warmer climate problem. Chrysler is now warrantying the tops for those sold and delivered in the warm climate areas. 10yrs/100K... I wouldn't worry about it. Mine is 6 yrs old with no problems so far...

 

We love our Cedar/Slate interior. It's the coolest interior we've ever had in any car we've owned.
The Vanilla interior really stands out as well.
I'm glad the Vanilla only came in the Roadster, because I think that's where it looks best, and I prefer the Cedar/Slate in a coupe.

 

Hi i have a gorgeous blue roadster with black interior, which looks great with the top down, i've had no problems with the rear window or the seals around it, & i've put the roof up & down like a yoyo throught out the summer months. Thanks Paul.

 

I was told by my now long gone local Chrysler dealer that only charcoal (black) and charcoal/grey interiors came into UK because that's UK buyers want.
The UK market is not receptive to the brighter more adventurous interiors that the USA market likes. These were only available special order, hence very few here. Thats why we got no Alabaster White or Oyster Gold Crossfires, they were just too exciting for us Brits to own!
Its not just Chrysler; look any any brand of car you will see the same trend, different colours for different markets all chosen by market researchers
