Default Did you know...

that above a certain speed, your Crossfire will start to undress itself?

but don't worry to much this happened at silly speeds (on a private road)..............well it was sort of private, it belonged to the French government

I have done some "silly speeds" on private roads, but haven't had that happen ! I'm a bit worried now What sort of speeds might you have been doing ? PM or e-mail if you can !

speedo was showing just short of 170, satnav 162,

Yes it is de-restricted

I rely on blue painters tape to keep things in place. I've only seen 140 mph but often. Congratulations on the blow job!

it is a used car...someone may have had a windshield repair and they never put the molding back on correctly. I can without a doubt tell you both mine have been up the to 160 mark on a few accations without anything becoming loose....crossing fingers, nothing ever does...lol

It looks like it may be begining to rust in the right corner. If it is less than 5 years old that should be covered under Chrysler warranty.

Did you get it de-restricted by AMG ? My research suggests that you can cause damage unless the ECU is altered and that AMG discovered this with several SRTs suffering failures by customers that did this independantly, I think it was in the transmission that fails. Are you sure it is de-restricted as 162 is the max restricted speed on the SRT ?


Anyway, that is bloody fast !! How did it feel , was it steady ?

As far as I am aware it was as it was done by the Chrysler dealership that owned the car for the first 5 years of its life.

she is def de-restricted, she was still eccelerating and she has topped 170 on one previous occasion. As for stability, spot on

Fantastic ! Yes, Chrysler would have done it properly. That is an expensive mod as apparently you have to take the car to AMG to have it done. My research suggests that top speed is 183
