Default MPG - Figures

Hi All,

Just curious as to what your MPG figures are like. The reason why im asking is because im coming from a Smart Roadster that done on average 46mpg town driving.

Im not silly to think that the crossfire will be similar but what are your actual figures? Ive seen so many different figures on the reviews via Google, but as you use yours daily, id just like to know that hard facts.

Many Thanks

Tommyj

SRT6 or N/A ?

I have an N/A, I see 22-24 around town, 29-32 cruising on Interstate at 65-70 MPH.
Lots of variables :
1. does the gasoline contain ethanol, is so, what % ( MPG drops 2-5 MPG with ethanol )
2. Temperature ( winter is better, denser air, no A/C running )
3. Tire pressure, the higher is is, the better the MPG. ( I run 33 rear / 32 front )

Thank you for your reply.

It will by the standard crossfire not the SRT6.

Thanks again

I would reconsider that. The SRT6 is awesome due to the fact it has many upgrades compared to the N/A. The N/A is much better looking but the performance, brake and ride enhancement are worth the extra added fuel costs.
I have owned both N/A and now a SRT6 so if you have any questions let me now.

From his previous posts I would suggest he doesn't have the budget for an SRT6

To answer the original question, I have an SRT6 Roadster and as you may know the SRT6 only comes with an Auto box and I last averaged 23 MPG

I did not look at his previous post but see below link for a SRT6 roadster for sale in the UK. I guess a Coupe will be even less expensive.

Chrysler Crossfire 3.2 V6 SRT-6 2DR AUTO MASSIVE SPEC 2006

bear in mind that these are US figures (their gallons are diddy compared to our proper man-sized gallons )

My average seems to be 300/310 miles per tank

yep 'diddy' :
The imperial gallon (4.54609 litres (L)) is 20% larger than the United States liquid gallon (3.785411784 L)

Hi All,

Its now come to the time where I need to make up my mind.........the only thing thats stopping me is the MPG figure. Thats the only thing that is concerning me. Like I said previously, I averaged over 40mpg in the smart roadster round town which I know is high in comparison but our other car is a BMW 325i Msport (auto) which is really bad, average 18mpg.

I know everyone drives differently, but im no boy racer and generally drive round town, would it be wrong of me to expect figures of 30 mpg?

Ive been offered 2 crossfires:

1. 2004 (54 plate) 41k miles, 2 owners, FSH, silver/blue , Tax/MOT, 2 tone interior, recent service with all filters etc, private plate (which I will sell) - £4k
2. 2005 (54 plate) 23k miles, 2 owners, FSH, silver/blue, TAX/MOT, Dark grey interior, recent service with all filters etc,has boot cover - £4.8k

They are both in excellent condition apart from wheels have some kerbing.

I would appreciate your input to the MPG figures.

Many Thanks

I have both N/A and SRT6 and I don't care what MPG they do they both make me smile that's all I need

If you need to worry about fuel consumption don''t buy a XFR

Haha............its just that I dont want the wife nagging me like ive gone on at her about the BMW. I have moaned constantly about the lack of MPG that does and I dont want to hear her go on about the cost in petrol the Crossfire does.

So what sort of MPG do you get out of your n/a?

Thanks

My 2 cents ( or pence, or farthings or whatever ) : spend the extra 800 pounds and get the one with lower mileage .... ( what's a boot cover ? )

Boot cover = cargo cover.
If it's the Mopar one then it is a rarity in itself.

Just checked my ' 04 when traveling to and fro Woodward.

All highway: 30.5 mpg

Mixed, 50/50: 26.5 mpg

My quickest, most enjoyable car gets the best mpg. Win, win....

If you want MPG keep or get the Dumb I mean Smart car..
If you want FUN & thrills/enjoyment buy a Crossfire..
It's not the best on MPG but better then the BMW and once the wife drives it she will be a believer too...

I think I mentioned before my SRT averages around 23 MPG and that was a shock after the MX5 but I love the so I'm prepared to put up with it.

Just to give you a reality check it cost around £83.00 to fill from empty and you will get around 325 miles.

If you want economical buy a 2.0 Z4 but you will just be one of many rather than one of very few with a Crossfire

The two tone interior looks better than the drab monochrome upholstery. Snazzy is better than boring IMHO.

you can go off people real quick!! that's what I get from my na - that being said though I'm sure I go tmore out of my first XF.

Back to the ones on offer - for me it'd be the 05, they're not too far apart in price and that cargo cover is pricey!!! That being said as always buy on condition and what instinct tells you when you see them both
