new to crossfire
just wanted to say hi, hopefully picking up a convertable srt6 next week, is there anything specific i should be looking for on this model with regards to problems?
one thing i have seen is the serpentine belt needing to be changed, the car i am looking at is a 2005 year and done about 60,000 miles should it have been changed allready?
any help/advice is greatfully received.
thanks
neill.

Newbee Monday public announcement:
Head over to the SRT6 section for your downloadable car owners manual and service manual along with several other useful downloads!

Have a look at the area around the boot lock handle for rust and your will be beyond the age / mileage that you can expect from the HE water pump so you might end up changing that? The other considerations are all service items like front and rear discs, filters etc and Transmission torque discs (rubber / steel discs either end or the propshaft)
Good luck I'm sure your love it

Oh and here's a link to all the SRT documentation Mr Miata referred to https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ollection.html
It has just gone over 60k miles but looked pretty immaculate and has a good service history, going to drive it this weekend and all being well will sign up for it.
When you say HE water pump, do you mean intercooler pump?
A couple of quick questions while I think about it if you guys can help?
What tyre pressure do you run, the only info I can find on the car is 36 psi with a full load on my tyre label.
I take it I need to run her on super unleaded, the handbook says 95 Ron is fine but it seems more geared towards the na model.
Is it a major pain to swap the head unit, from what I have seen it looks like a lot of messing to get all the speakers working but I would like to fit an mp3 player.

Hi Neil, Not sure about the Tyre pressures to be honest. Hopefully someone can advice us both.
I run mine on standard unleaded fuel and it runs perfectly. As for the head unit I changed mine for a Parrot system

And heres a closer look at the wheels.

Hi Neill, I run 32 all round and standard fuel, works for me
Thanks for the info guys, it seems odd to me every turbo car I have owned allways recommended super but I dont really know much about superchargers tbh.
Dal I am loving the in car I pad! Did you need to chop & change wires on the harness to get the rear speakers working? All the threads I have seen in the stereo section say they won't work without modding the wiring?
Hopefully the wife & I can make it to Santa pod on the 13th.

Neil, the Parrot was simply plug and play and to me the sound is far better than before.
The benefit of the Parrot is that it has, SD, USB reader plus bluetooth and a iPhone connection lead.
I did have some teething problems with the Parrot but I was happy to bare with it as it is new technology, the changed the unit and its now awesome.
