Hobbies?
Now i've locked my XFire away in preparation for another ***** Winter. I was wondering what other hobbies, interests you guys have to pass the time?
I'm suffering with cabin fever already
Roll on the summer

Yes I agree something for the winter is required, if only to help fend off the looming decorating jobs that err indoors will suggest if she senses you have nothing to do!
My solution to this has been off road trials riding & there are classes for old bikes so it need not be to expensive either, there are practice venues arround that make for a good Saturday afternoon & competition meetings that I do when I can. Our local pre 65 club is friendly & we have a good banter, unlike the modern boys that are very competitive with no friendly buzz at the meetings and they seem to enjoy wearing lycra.
The bikes are not road going so a trailer or bikerack is also required, this passtime also carries little danger infact is a health benifit running up & down large hills when walking the course before the ride
suits me sir..ohh!

Sounds interesting Steve,
I did do a bit of Green laning in 09 Essexbikers Green Laning November 2009 Part 1 - YouTube which was fun at first but then they started getting a little to competitive and it got to dangerous for my liking. Have a look at my videos if your bored and no laughing
Any links to your group and what sort of bikes are they?

Besides playing with the cats, there are the R/C planes, ham radio, and restoring a 1939 Zenith ROBOT dial radio with the green tuning indicator.
Did I mention I am working thru the permit office to get the 2100 foot garage approved for the house that I am building in the other half of my lot. When approved I will begin the construction, been 25 years since I built the last one.
Having one less toy is not a problem, and now that the election coverage is off the tube, there is more time again.
Weee, Oh and there is the study of the intercooler / oil separator.
Woody

With that said it off to Burford this weekend & with the freezing temperatures forcast there will be plenty of salt on the road no doubt, may be able to wash some of the salt off by driving through the flood water....but hey anyone thats been here before will know its not one to miss & the thought of not attending in the crossfire would not be worth the ridicule from others, although thinking about it Ken seemed to get away with it at Sandringham umm.

As for using the Xfire, well that would be stupid as I have to move 3 cars just to get it out the garage. I, like a few others are in the fortunate position that I can have toys and the Crossfire is exactly that a toy. As Steve said in years to come these will be sort after (who would have thought a Capri would be collectable) and I'd much sooner hide it away in my garage than have some ****** with no insurance slide in the side of it and bugger off.
I can't make the Xmas do anyway, so it's not going anywhere for a few months
I'll probably end up buying a wreck of a bike and rebuild that over the Winter.
but have got the Landie incase it snows
I see you edited your first message, at least it's not quite so aggresive now

in my edit i just added lock it away when the ***** weather comes and how today was roadster weather, simply saying if you miss it so much then drive it, but then if you`ve got a lot of toys keep it in the toybox and play with something else....
At this time of year, watching the weather forecast for a nice crisp dry day and hoping I'll also have time for a drive - and then planning the trip to allow enough time after getting back to wash off the salt in the remaining daylight before putting it back in the garage - phew - all those criteria rarely come together at once!
What does it matter whether they'll become collectable in our lifetime? - I bought mine to enjoy short and long term - it's just a great thing to own & drive - amazing value for money today and in years to come if looked after.
Anyone else noticed how many bargains there are right now? - like that 28k SRT for £7k - can't be bad?!

How did my very simple enquiry about people's hobbies and interests aside of Crossfire's turn into a debate about whether we should use the cars in the winter months
