Battery Location?
In preparation for the arrival of my new purchase can anyone tell me where the battery is located in a Crossfire, is it under the bonnet or in the boot?
My car will be used at weekends mainly and as it will spend quite a lot of time sitting in the garage it will be connected to a battery maintainer and i'm just trying to work out if I need to use an extension lead or not.
If anyone has a photo of the actual battery location it would be helpful

( BIG NOTE : If you see that it is a white top Varta, beware ! That is an original battery and long past it's useful life )
I wasn't aware that the battery location was reversed for right hand drive cars. hmmmm. I have a maintainer on mine all through the winter with an extension cord. Works great. So regardless of which side it's on, it's under the "bonnet" in the back corner and you should plan on an extension cord. What do you think, 180?

Thanks Alax/John. i'd spotted some info about the white Varta's whilst googling for the location earlier, i'll check on that, I intend to keep it hooked up to a 500mah maintainer whilst its in the garage just to keep it topped up as from experience the alarm/immobiliser drains batteries when parked for long periods, I used to keep my Mitsubishi GTO hooked up to the same thing (best £5 I ever spent from Amazon) and it was always ready to go.

Easier still I turned my laptop upside down
that puts it in front of the drivers side firewall, perfect for plugging in without having trailing cables for anyone to trip over in the garage.
I dont care about anyone falling over, only if they fall onto the car and damage it

I used the connectorized lead with cable out thehood under wiper. Now plus and unplug is but a sec. And hood is shut. You can put a card on whiper to doubly remind you its on trickle charger. If u forget, it will pull off without major concern. Woody
Good idea Woody, i'm thinking of putting a break connector into the lead, and hardwiring the terminal connectors in place of those clips so that i can just pull the connector & go.

In UK, left side ( passenger ) under the bonnet next to fender and firewall
I too use an optimate on mine while it's being stored. A habit I had when I had the bikes

Great photo's thanks for the link, where was the meeting? looked a bit like Brooklands?
Thought it looked familiar, I went down there years ago in my first sports car, and managed to sneak it past security onto the banking and grab this shot.
I guess I wont be making many meetings unless you all fancy a trip over here to sample the TT course one weekend in the summer, quite a few car clubs do that, and i'd be happy to get info on ferries and hotels for you all.
The group did something similar a few years ago (2009). You may even spot your car in the group.
