Default Has anyone used car buying sites?

I'm struggling to sell my Crossfire to buy another Z4 so just wondered if anyone here has or would use the car buying websites?
webuyanycar.com
wewillbuyyourcar.com
sellittous.co.uk
I have done quotes with these sites but am dubious that they would be picky when it comes to pay out.

I haven't had a part ex quote from a garage yet so don't know what the differences would be. I would have more scope if I had the cash.

OR would I be better off just dropping the price I want for the Crossfire in my advert just a little higher than these sites quote?

Up to you Russ. Sold mine two weeks ago. WE BUY ANY CAR. COM offered me £3500. I sold it privately for £5995.00.

Good luck

Why not get free valuation from Whatcar or Parkers or similar - webuyanycar will typically offer about 75% of trade in price and often try to sell through their sister company Carcraft at a price double that offer. See how the trade in price compares with what you want or sell privately at around 10 to 15% more.
I personally won't entertain these people (but there are worse out there)

With the info I have given these sites. 2006, 45,000 miles, few stone chips on front

Webuyanycar.com £3355
wewillbuyyourcar.com £3624
wewantanycar.com £4046

BUT I know they would start and be very picky and say you didn't tell us about this little mark here and this little mark there, not that there are any. so we will have to deduct x amount of £££'s. Something I cant be hassled with.

I'm going to get a part ex quote at a dealer and take it from there and depending what they quote I might adjust my asking price private.

I haven't used one of these services but through curiosity have had a couple of quotes on my cars which made my eyes water and I have to say I would only consider using them if I was absolutely desperate for instant money in an emergency.

As much as I dislike dealers it far better to go the PX route if you can find what you are looking for, yes dealers are in it to make a profit but on balance if you haggle firmly you can come out in a far better position than selling to those car buying services.
