Brake Pad Warning
Ok so now I am confused by car - driving home the pad indicator started to flicker then came on. So knowing how these normally work braked gently just to check and light goes off! Drive another few miles same again.
Pads are Red Stuff so guess someone in past had them fitted they look at quick glance and feel that other pads are about 10mm face to backing plate - would have pulled wheels off but monsoon started any observations folks
Thanks

I have a theory which I can test tomorrow - a sensor wire has moved and touching edge of disc hence flicker as soon as brake pad moves wire comes off light goes out. Done normal test key in ignition turn all lights on start engine all lights off press brake pedal hard - no light
Wouldn't expect the light to come on with 10mm left on the pads
is that both sides of both the disc? Had you been heavy braking and got them over hot??

Hi Mo
Started raining as I was about to crawl under so not checked inner but would expect them to be about same. No done about 3 miles in 30 and 40 limits will pull wheels off tomorrow afternoon (been volunteered to go orienteering) not like last week when moron came straight over from left on mini roundabout then did brake heavily and swear too as did guy opposite but he had a bit more warning!!

So pulled both fronts off to have a look - pads OK - as guessed offside sensor wire just touching disc moved it away put everything back and all OK
the disturbing thing was all bolts were tight except security bolts on both sides hardly any effort to undo
- something to check I think after few miles having wheels off or new tyres fitted!
