Default Car completely dead. no Central locking, no lights on dashboard...

Hi,
I haven't used my car for 3 days and when I went to open the doors with the central locking today nothin happened. I opened the door with the manual key and tried to start the car but nothing at all. No lights coming on at the dashboard.
I am not sure if I have left something on from when I was last in the car, but I very much doubt it. I tried to jump start the engine with leads from another car engine but still the same nothin at all. I never had time to do anything else. But I am going to Check the battery to see how old it is tomorrow and see about buying another one. Can anyone suggest what type I should be buying? I will check the current battery and go off that.
Anybody else encountered this problem with the Crossfire?
It's a automatic 2003.
Cheers,
Swampy.

Thank goodness. I was worried there was something else to worry about. Frusttrating though, I'm sure.

Hi,
I removed the battery and charged it up, which went ok. I left it sitting for a day on the bench and the voltage stayed above 12.5v. I refitted it back to the car and was met with the car alarm going off until I put the key in the ignition.
The car started ok and I found the internal lights were permanently on, which I never realised when I last drove the car, which was during the daylight hours. So upto now the battery is fine.
I did notice the ESP light was on during driving. I looked into this and was told to turn the wheel one way then the other then back to the middle and stop the engine. Then restart the engine and see if the ESP light goes out which it did. So all is well there.
If I encounter any more issues I will be back..
Thanks,
Swampy....
