Default Any UK members about?

Hi there from sunny Bolton.

I have a Crossfire issue that is only on UK/European versions. Is there anybody out there that can do a quick 30 second check on their car for me. One other member has got back to me, but we want to ensure we get the same result from a number of people.

Any help really appreciated.

Cheers

Hi Gareth
Sorry about the corrupt image. I added the image to an attachment, can you see that OK?

The issue is the headlight adjustment switch.

Back to basics then:-

Headlight switch...... adjacent to that is a small rotary switch that on mine and others appears to "click" 3 times. The switch indicator however is only marked as having a position 0 and a position 1.

When I adjust the rotary switch by one click the headlights move up, I adjust the rotary switch to the next click position (which is marked as number 1 on the dial) nothing happens. I then move the switch to the last click, again nothing happens.

What happens on your Crossfire?

Cheers

Yep. Mines the same. Only one level of adjustment, for a single passenger. The extra clicks were for the 4door Merc that the switch design originated from.

Cheers Gareth, that's 3 UK cars checked out, all with the same results - a 3 way switch that only works in 1 position. Saves me digging around for wiring diagrams trying to find a fault that doesn't exist.

Thanks for explaining how the switch came to be used. This day and age they would have spent millions of pounds designing a new switch instead of using up existing stocks. They would also spend a fortune in throwing the old ones out as well.

Once again
Many thanks for your help and assistance.
