SoCal Crossfires - April 26, 2008 Cars & Coffee, Coastal Cruise
We had half a dozen Crossfires at Cars & Coffee this past Saturday, then headed to Mimi's Cafe for breakfast and then a trip to Hillbank Motors to check out the line of Superformance replica Cobras, GT40s and Daytona Coupes.
We discussed how often the SoCal members have said it would be great to have a large gathering of Crossfires, so here's our chance to do it. Cars & Coffee is a huge and eclectic gathering of cars from all over SoCal that takes place every Saturday morning from roughly 7:00 to 9:00AM. This is a great place to get the "Car Guy" juices flowing, after which we can repeat a breakfast at Mimi's and then get a convoy of Crossfires either running through Santiago Canyon or down Pacific Coast Highway. That part is still up for discussion, but I wanted to start this off early with a target date several weeks away in hopes that more people can plan their schedules around it.
Who's in, and who has a suggestion for a drive, eating location, etc?
Let's make this one happen guys!

it is amazing how much attention our cars get. of course, we are always out numbered by ford gt's (those are just too boring i'm presuming). yesterday, we had an ecletic bunch of crossfires which was really cool and we had a nice exit (i'm waiting for the youtube video to be posted).
sorry i missed breakfast guys; i had to get to work. my only obligation coming up would be on april 12. any other saturday is fine. i wouldn't even mind cruisin' to san diego for lunch if you guys are up for it. the spring weather is just about perfect right now.

I'm in, I'm located in Orange so a ride down to San Diego would be good or up to Santa Barbara. My pick is San Diego though, if everybody meets at Cars and Coffee then we can just head out from there.
Just a fun thing to do for the Cars and Coffee mornings... coordinate with other crossfires and all arrive together...
I would like to join you in late April... we'll see what comes up.
Cheers!

I can't make any get togethers until after tax season so the 26th works out well for me. Since I'm in San Diego I could either meet everyone at lunch in San Diego and possibly head back up with the group to the LA area afterwards or meet up at Cars and Coffee and then stay in San Diego after lunch. Guess it depends on what time I wake up Sat morning.
I love the drive north from Marina Del Rey to Oxnard along PCH and haven't had a chance to do so in the Crossfire yet. I'm good with that program.
I think I'm in and North sounds like a good ida - I can get 2nd round.
What do you guys think about this to get rid of the restricted Y-pipe on the SRT?

OF COURSE!!!
The one time we get a SoCal meet lined up, I'm busy.
I graduate from Pepperdine University on April 26th. Oh well, we'll have to do another one soon!!

OK, let's get a feel for how many people are up for this. Obviously if we depart Cars & Coffee around 9:00AM we have two choices - either head north or south. So we can take the 133 down to PCH in Laguna Beach until it dead ends then ......... north or south?
If we go south we can only take the coast to San Clemente then we'd have to jump on the 5 to Oceanside where we could once again pick it up all the way to Torrey Pines and beyond.
If we go north we're good to Long Beach, then over the Vincent Thomas bridge and a few street changes through Palos Verdes, pick up Sepulveda in Manhattan Beach and on through to Marina Del Rey - which we might hit right around lunch time. The drive just improves from there as we head into Malibu and beyond.
I'm torn on this one as I'm not sure just how long either route would take. Then again, I'm blocking out the day so I don't really care!
So let's start a copy and paste sign up list, so to speak. Enter your name and direction choice (N or S), and if you have a restaurant recommendation let's hear that too.
