Smile New Wheels on SRT6 - Petrol Octane

Just received my new wheels from GETYOURWHEELS.COM

Back in early March 2007, carman_subaru purchased his Mandrus Millennium wheels from Peter @ getyourwheels Link.

I wanted this setup, because the Millennium closely matched the look of the SRT6 factory wheels and were plus 1 in size. I called Peter 1-888-250-9074 last week to order the Mandrus Millennium wheels with Falken FK-452 tires for $1,950 shipped to Houston. Peter called me back to info me of bad news, TSW had the fronts on backorder until mid May, but the good news was TSW has a new line of wheels
www.petrolwheels.com. He could get me the Metrix model in 19*8 front and 20*10 rear for the same price, normally this combo would cost $200 more, but since TSW did not have the other wheels in stock, TSW would discount the wheel set to match the Millennium's. I looked on Petrol website and did not like the Metrix model, but notice the Octane wheel, called Peter back and asked him to get me the Octane wheels instead.

Front 19*8 ET 32; 2 inch lip; tire 235/35/19
Rear 20*10 ET 25; 3.5 inch lip; tire 285/30/20

Yes, that is correct the rear ET of 25, fits perfectly.

I also wanted the tire pressure sensors, gave Peter the part # 1-52088990AC from Mopar. Peter charged $200 for all 4 installed in the wheels. The sensors worked properly without having to visit the dealership to reprogram or teach them. So total cost was $2,150 shipped to Houston.

Also last week I installed the Eibach springs.

The car is very dirty and it was getting dark last night, I will wash-wax the car this weekend and post better pictures.

UPDATE: Wash, claybar and wax the car and took pictures during the day. Click on the pictures to see a bigger image. More pictures in my Gallery.

Verry Nice - Like the stance! The 5 spoke wheels give a lot of airspace to see the disks & calipers! Looks like you found a good alternative to the cleaning duties of the SRT wheels, but now you have to keep your brake hardware clean!! I'd say the work is worth the payoff!

Nicely done... Classic five spoke design... I like.

I'm suprised your low pressure light didnt' go on immediately. I'd check the bulb to make sure it's not burnt out.

These sensors have to be programmed for each car. It's like a keyless remote to unlock the doors, each one has a 'key' and has to be programmed for the car to recognize it.

Let us know if there was something 'special' done to pre-program these.

Very nice! Classic 5 spoke always looks good. As the diameter gets larger, the open space in the wheel is huge. Need to paint those calipers.

What difference has there been in ride quality. There wasn't a whole lot of rubber to absorb impacts before. Now the tires almost look like rubber bands wrapped around the wheel. But they sure look good!

I placed the old and new wheels/tires on a digital shipping scale.

Old SRT6 wheel/tire front weighs with new PS2 with about 95% tread life is 45 pounds; with old PS2 with about 50% tread life is 43 pounds.
Old SRT wheel/tire rear with old PS2 with about no life is 51 pounds.

New Petrol 19*8 front with Falkens weighs a heavy 53 pounds.
New Petrol 20*10 rear with Falkens weighs a heavy 63 pounds.

They look good, but are real heavy.

You are right TimeLord, it took 2 days before the low pressure light came on. Now I have to visit the dealership, hopefully they will not charge me to program the sensors.

Hey shade is your car lowered? I want 20's in rear and 19's in front as well but I wasn't sure if I could or needed to lower the car, yours looks perfect.

Yes, I lowered the car 2 weeks ago, used Eibach kit # 2552.140 from TireRack for $244.

The ride difference between factory and lowered is surprisingly close. The SRT6 is already stiff and the Eibach springs is also stiff. Even with the 20's in the rear, the ride is good for a daily driver. You will not be disappointed if you install the Eibach springs.

Did you install them yourself, was there any modding that needed to be done for fit, such as fender rolling etc. Is it fairly easy to install springs?

new Crossfire, I highly recommend going with 225/35/19 for the front tires, you will still have some rubbing but a lot less. The next few paragraphs are my answers to a few other members on the same topic.

Only the fronts rub when reversing and when turning into a ramped driveway, also the fronts are 19s*8, tires are 235/35/19. Front fender lip have no damage or marks. The rears have not rubbed and they are 20s*10, 285/30/20. I have taken off the wheels to look inside the rear wheel area to see if there are any rub marks and there are none. My SRT6 is a daily driver.

My next set of front tires will be 225/35/19 which gives the overall diameter of 25.2" this is close to the factory 225/40/18 overall diameter of 25". Currently the 235/35/19 overall diameter is 25.5" which causes more rub.

I have had the new wheel setup and Eibach springs on since April of 2007, about 8 months & 6000 miles. I have checked every 1000 miles at the inner tire tread to see if there is uneven wear and so far it may be to early but it looks very even in wear.

tylerxfire, I did not get to answer your question about the rear offset, but your wheels should fit fine. It is good that you went with 225 for the front tires. Post some pictures of your new wheelset.

Looks great!! I was also wondering how much of a pain it its to lower the car? I think i read somewhere on here you have to cut something out of the front suspension to fit the springs in?! Is that true? If it's too much a hassle, im out.......
