Default Need advice about buying new tires

So i am coming up at 30,000 miles and found out my tire light keeps coming on after everytime i fill my back right tire with air (there's a nail in it). And the tread is getting low so i decided to buy new tires (the originals are still on).

So if anyone has any advice for all season or wet weather tires with a spending limit of $800 - $900 dollars please drop a line.

In my opinion the Continental - Conti-tour is the best tire at that price. They are a very good gripping tire, but they wear fast. I bought a new set for my '04 coupe for $870 mounted and balanced.

I would vote against the conti's. My conti's only made it maybe 20,000 and thats with me driving like a grampa, nothing exciting. I have already put 24,000 on my uhp's and they are just starting to show wear and they cost less than the conti's. Now as I imagine everyone has found out that there are really only "z or zr" rate tires and none of them are going to last too long due to the soft compounds.

I'm opting NOT to go with Conti's this time - only 10,000 miles on my rears, and WELL into the tread marker.

Consider Kumho SPT's if they won't see snow. The SPT is a summer tire that has outstanding wet weather performance and pretty darn good dry weather performance. I bought them twice for my old RX-8.

They won't last all that long, but they're super cheap...at tirerack right now, they have 225/40R18's for $90/ea and 245/35R19's (not oem size, but within about a tenth of an inch of diameter) for $152 each.

So far I like these - only a few hundred miles on them so far... My Conti's lasted 35,000 and the fronts were still passable - the rears were shot!.

Not only that, but they were delivered to my dealer within 48 hours.
