Brought the car to the origional garage where I had the brakes put on and they did not see a problem they told me it takes a while to brake in, then I brought it to Midas and they did not seem concerned. I am going to to go to one more place because I am not 100% comfortable yet. Plus I am going to the Newport Cruise and maybe the other members will be able to see them.

Fritzauf,
Thanks for the compliments. They do their job quite well at the track.
CrossfireRoadster,
Seeing as how you have stated that it's a very shallow groove, I wouldn't worry about it much. If more than one shop has had it apart and have not seen any wear on the caliper assembly, then most likely it was something stuck in between the rotor and pad for at first.
The pads will conform to the shape and it's not worth having it turned for such a shallow groove. (personal opinion)
Lastly, having this 'groove' will not noticably affect your stopping power and when the pad wears a bit more and conforms, it won't affect it at all.
I don't know that the sqealing will go away with mine as I had the rotors Cryogenically treated and they are much harder than untreated. I also suspect it's the compound I use (R4 racing compound).
Cheers!

Re: Disc Italia rotors and Pads Installed
I now see the groove in question and it IS quite large. I would suggest this is caused by a stuck caliper or something similar. Also... make sure the Calipers were re-assembled properly!!! Something could be mis-aligned.
It looks like even wear in that groove, so it suggests something hard and machined rubbing that area (i.e.- mounting or caliper section or even a mis-aligned clip.
Good luck!

Re: Disc Italia rotors and Pads Installed
I would suggest finding out first what is causing the problem. If it's something that the original installer did wrong, you are entitled to a new rotor on their dime. If it IS their fault... insist on it!!!
If it was something else... or you can't find the reason, I'd order another one. Only other thing to do is see if you can get the seller to RMA the item due to defect (if it was that way out of the box). This is why I always take pictures of things like that BEFORE I install them.
Good luck!

Re: Disc Italia rotors and Pads Installed
Just got word from the dealer, they took the brakes all apart and saw nothing wrong at all, they said everything was installed properly. So I'll have to take their word. It was the 3rd place. So now I have better peace of mind and will not lose sleep over it.

There is a hecl of a squel but I was told they have to be broken in. So I'll give it some time.

Re: Disc Italia rotors and Pads Installed
Replacement pads for all four wheels finally arrived. The box was damaged. I hope nothing fell out. This could have been avoided.
Seriously, http://www.brakeworld.com, free shipping isn't worth it if you don't add a single ounce of bubble wrap, a sheet of newspaper, or a single packing peanut. I spend $200 on brakepads, and you won't give me $0.25 of packing material?

This is where I purcahsed that caliper stickers. So far so good they still look good as new. They fit perfectly they are 2 give you 2 different sizes to match the front and rear calipers so they look good.
