Default Pulse Vibration at High Speed

This is strange. I put new wheels and tires on my 06 coupe and am now getting a vibration over 60mph. I can feel it in the steering wheel, gas pedal, shifter, and seat.

Here's what's really odd. It's not a constant vibration. It pulses. So, for about 1 second it will vibrate, then the shudder will fade until it pretty much stops vibrating; then back to vibration, then back to calm, and so on and so on.

Is this something that can be caused by improperly balanced wheels/tires? Is it a spacer issue?

The wheels are 18 in front and 19 in the back, like stock.

Any ideas?

This may not be of much help and its a bit stupid, but it may pinpoint the problem.

If you still have the old wheels and rims and they are the same size, you could swap them out one at a time to see if one of the new wheels is causing the problem. Or put all of the old ones on first to see if the problem goes away, then put the new ones on one at a time until the problem comes back.

I do have the old wheels, unfortunately the tires were shot, so I had them removed.

I'm just confused by the nature of this vibration. I've never heard of a vibration that pulses instead of remaining constant.

Any clues as to how this could happen?

Had the same problem with my daughters SRTwhen I drove it up to Daytona. When I got home after the annoying pulse as you discribed it, I had the front tires rebalanced. They thought maybe one of the balancing weights had fallen off. That did the trick. No more pulsating.

Ditto, the hub maybe off center or balance. Check balance first or same time ask wheel shop about the hub fit !
