Default Brake Pads replacement same as Benz C-Class?

Hi guys,

can someone kindly tell me what Mercedes replacement brake pads should i buy for my 2006 Limited Crossfire front and rear? Im from Singapore and the dealer charges US$500 for the front pads alone and labour charge is US$90!!!

If someone can tell me if our brake pads are the same as C-Class or E-Class, i can easily buy it here and have someone install it for less than US$200, inclusive of the pads.

cheers

Eddy

You brought a Crossfire into Singapore?

I grew up there '90-'95, went to Singapore American School, same as that teenager that was flogged for vandalising Mercedes!

That has got to be a hell of a car to maintain so far away! How many are there out there?

I don't know if the brake pads are the same as any of the Mercedes cars, but I do know you can eBay yourself a set of Rotex Golds for a LOT less than $500. The vendor "Super Dayv's Wholesale Auto Parts" ships worldwide. He's got sets of rear pads listed for about $50.

Also, in the ebay listing, the pads are listed to fit a whole host of other Mercedes cars. Be warned though, this link is for SRT rear pads, not base or limited.

Another famous brand to check on ebay is Posi Quiets. Also be careful not to get the SRT pads, as they are different size from the limited and base.

Hello Zai Jian,

Vandalising Mercedes? That's Michael Fay! It was a really big thing isnt it?

There are only 3 Crossfire Roadster in Singapore and maybe about 6 Coupe. They are all non-SRT. I offered the dealer to bring in the SRT but was rejected. Not sure why.

Yes, it is hell of a car to maintain. Beside paying about US$3000 yearly for the insurance coverage, i still have to pay US$2500 for road-tax. FYI, the car cost about US$130K.

As you now know, there are only a few Crossfire and thats why the dealer charges so much money just to change the front brake pads. The good thing about owning a Crossfire here is that Mercedes parts are cheap and easily available!

cheers

A little off topic, but I'd like to see some photos of the XF in Singapore, if you feel like posting them
